I love a good sandwich. The problem is Subway and Jimmy John's just don't do it for me. If you've had a New York City sandwich, then you'll understand my high standards for my sammies. My first exposure to a real NYC sandwich happened at Katz's Deli. I've been looking for an East Coast sandwich in Oklahoma ever since then.

I think I have finally found a sandwich shop in OKC that can keep pace with NYC delis. Scottie's Deli is located in Uptown 23rd in OKC. The ambiance of the place was very New York-esque. They even had a picture of my favorite NY deli! I loved the tiffany blue seating.

I decided to order the New York, NY. I don't think I need to explain why. Corned beef, pastrami, swiss, sauerkraut all on rye. The sandwich also comes with Russian, which is a spicy Thousand Island dressing. Since I'm not a fan of Thousand Island, I decided to get the Russian on the side to test try it. It was a great sandwich, but I'd want to try more of the menu items when I go back.

My friend ordered the Beef Dip-unfortunately, I didn't think to photograph his. Thin-sliced roast beef, provolone, served on a roll with au jus. It was to die for!
Overall, I was very impressed with Scottie's Deli. I'd recommend it to any deli aficionado. If you are in the OKC area be sure to check it out!
